Kypotx is a unique art deco brand known for its handcrafted pottery and planters, designed to elevate the aesthetic of home and office spaces. Catering specifically to enthusiasts of succulents, cacti, and small plants, Kypotx combines functionality with artistic elegance. As the lead visual designer, I was responsible for the creation of Kypotx’s brand identity and the development of its website. This included shaping the visual storytelling, UX design, and overall digital strategy to convey Kypotx’s artisan craftsmanship and modern aesthetic.
Concept Development
I began conceptualizing the visual direction by creating mood boards and sketching initial ideas. This phase was marked by exploring color palettes, typography, and graphic elements that would complement the handcrafted nature of Kypotx’s pottery and planters. The chosen direction embodied sophistication and subtle luxury, appealing to those with a keen eye for design.
TOOLS: Figma, Elementor, WordPress, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator
The website’s design takes inspiration from art deco influences, featuring geometric patterns, bold lines, and a sophisticated color palette that reflects the elegance and creativity of Kypotx products. Each element is carefully curated to evoke the brand’s dedication to detail and quality. High-resolution images and interactive galleries allow users to explore the beauty of each handcrafted piece.
Research and Inspiration
To craft a brand that felt both contemporary and timeless, I conducted extensive research into Art Deco influences, current trends in home decor, and the preferences of plant lovers. This phase included analyzing competitors and gathering inspiration from architecture and art that epitomized the sleek, geometric elements associated with Art Deco.
Design Execution
Using tools like Adobe Illustrator and Figma, I translated these concepts into tangible branding assets. The logo design incorporated clean, bold lines with an art deco influence, while the color scheme blended earthy tones with hints of metallics to reflect both the natural and upscale aspects of the brand. Typography was selected to enhance readability while maintaining an elegant feel.
Brand Guidelines and Consistency
Once the primary elements were finalized, I compiled a comprehensive brand guide. This document outlined specific rules for logo use, color applications, and font pairings, ensuring that Kypotx’s visual identity would remain consistent across both its online and physical stores. This guide served as a critical reference for future designs and marketing materials.
Implementation and Launch
The final step involved collaborating with the web development team to seamlessly integrate the new branding on kypotx.com and coordinating with store managers to apply the visuals to the physical storefront. The result was a cohesive and inviting brand identity that enhanced Kypotx’s reputation as a destination for high-quality, artful planters and pottery.
Role and Responsibilities
As the lead visual designer, I was responsible for the creation of Kypotx’s brand identity and the development of its website. This included shaping the visual storytelling, UX design, and overall digital strategy to convey Kypotx’s artisan craftsmanship and modern aesthetic.
User Experience (UX)
The site’s UX was tailored to provide an intuitive and immersive experience. I ensured that the layout was both visually appealing and user-friendly, guiding visitors seamlessly through collections and product details. A responsive design approach was employed, ensuring consistent performance across all devices, from desktops to smartphones. Interactive filters and search tools were added to help users quickly find products that match their preferences.
